About the event
Carl R. Trueman will be the speaker at this year’s Center for Christian Studies – First Things lecture in Austin. Trueman is a graduate of the Universities of Cambridge (M.A., Classics) and Aberdeen (Ph.D., Church History). He taught on the faculties of the Universities of Nottingham and Aberdeen before moving to the United States in 2001. In 2017–2018, he was a James Madison Visiting Fellow at Princeton University. Since 2018, he has served as a professor at Grove City College, although for the academic year 2025–26 he is on loan to the University of Notre Dame, where he is the Busch Family Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Citizenship and Constitutional Government. He is a Fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center in Washington, DC, a Fellow of the Center for Christian Studies, and a Contributing Editor at First Things.
