Christian Studies now available

In 1980, Michael Weed, along with his faculty colleagues, launched the Faculty Bulletin of the Institute for Christian Studies (later Austin Graduate School of Theology). In 1989, the journal name changed to Christian Studies, an annually published journal engaging biblical studies, culture, ethics, worship, technology, and many other issues facing churches in the contemporary world.
Michael edited the journal from 1980 to 2012 (with Todd Hall serving as managing editor from 2009), when Keith Stanglin took over as editor, determined to continue the legacy of Michael’s work with Christian Studies. The final issue of Christian Studies was published in 2019, just before the Covid pandemic. The Center for Christian Studies Journal of Christian Studies continues Michael’s legacy of concern for providing “scholarship for the church.”
Through its publishing run, Christian Studies, a free publication, had over 4,000 subscribers and featured articles by some of the best (and best-known) scholars in Churches of Christ—scholars such as Tony Ash, Everett Ferguson, Patrick Graham, Abraham J. Malherbe, Rick Marrs, James W. Thompson, Paul L. Watson, and many more.
For several years, now—due to various factors—the journal has been unavailable. The Center for Christian Studies is pleased to announce that, with the permission of the authors, we are now able to make available the entire catalog of Christian Studies, the beloved journal that Michael and his faculty colleagues created and maintained.
You can access the entire Christian Studies catalog here. And make sure to subscribe to the Journal of Christian Studies, which, under the leadership of Keith Stanglin, continues to provide scholarship for the church.
